Vernon Cassin

Non-Executive Chairman

Mr.Cassin joined AFEX’s Board at foundation. He is a lawyer (JD Harvard 1977) with a 30 year legal career in the Middle East, specializing in finance, corporate law and matters relating to the oil and gas industry. He served as a Partner with the international law firm of Jones Day where he was Managing Partner of the firm’s practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr.Cassin was a Director of Terra Energy Services when AFEX was spun off as a separate company in 2006.

Faisal Al-Hejailan

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Faisal Al-Hejailan joined AFEX’s Board in 2012, and is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Al-Hejailan Group.  Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and with branches in some key cities in the Middle East, Al-Hejailan Group deals primarily with metal fabrication, stainless pipe manufacturing, potable water additives and anti-scalants production, satellite telecommunications, lighting fixtures manufacturing, logistics services and manpower supply.  Mr. Al-Hejailan is also the Chairman of Mustang-Al-Hejailan, an engineering and project management company that provides services to Saudi Arabia’s oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, as well as civil engineering services to private and government institutions.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California, U.S.A.

Pascal Lipsky

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Lipsky joined AFEX at foundation. He has over 30 years of experience in exploration services in Africa including 17 years with Compagnie Générale De Géophysique (CGG) and Petroleum Geo- Services (PGS) as Operations Manager and Business Development Manager. Pascal was Managing Director of Terra Energy Services and is co-founder and co-owner of Geoex International, which is partnering with the Bureau of Geophysical Prospecting Ltd of China (BGP) to provide oil exploration services in Africa.

Brian Little

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Brian Little joined AFEX’s Board in 2012 and is a Managing Director for the Structured Finance Division at Gulf One Investment Bank B.S.C. (c). Mr. Little has over thirty years’ of investment banking and principal investment experience, across all sectors and markets including oil and gas, natural resources and emerging markets. Mr. Little has held senior level positions at JPMorganChase, ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and Citigroup and has been based in Bahrain, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. He holds a bachelors degree in Economics (Hons.) from the University of Sydney, Australia.

Ziyad Omar

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Omar joined AFEX’s Board in 2009. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gulf One Investment Bank B.S.C.(c) Bahrain. Mr.Omar has over 20 years’ investment banking and corporate finance experience. He was the former Country Head of The National Commercial Bank (NCB) of Saudi Arabia,the Finance Director of Al Faisaliah Group and is a Director of multiple listed and unlisted Middle Eastern and Asian companies. He holds an MBA and a bachelors degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from California State University, USA.

Ganesh Subramanian

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Ganesh Subramanian has over nineteen years of investment banking experience in the Middle Eastern and Asian markets with specialisation in private equity, venture capital, principal finance, treasury and natural resources.  Mr. Subramanian began his career at Kotak Mahindra Capital (a then affiliate of Goldman Sachs) in Mumbai, India and subsequently held senior roles at Ernst & Young, BMB Investment Bank and BNP Paribas.  Mr. Subramanian is a founder of Arqaam Capital Limited and First Investment Bank and is a CFA Charter holder and member of CFA Institute TM (U.S.A.) and a Chartered Accountant.

Amr Zedan

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Amr Zedan joined AFEX’s Board in 2012 and is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Zedan Group of companies based in Saudi Arabia. The Zedan Group has direct interests in oil and gas services, petrochemicals, power and water, construction, trading, mining and a focus on the services component of the Saudi Arabian energy sector. Mr. Zedan is also a recognised angel investor in information technology sphere. Mr. Zedan completed his preliminary engineering studies at Texas A&M University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management (Electrical) from the University of the Pacific, California, U.S.A. Mr. Zedan is also a renowned player in the European and Arabian Gulf polo circuit.
